Program Description:
NDT Training Program - This instruction, the Radiology NDT Inspector Training Program, prepares individuals for entry-level NDT Technician /Inspector/Engineer jobs. Graduates may find suitable employment in the oil and gas, petrochemical, offshore structural, shipbuilding, and pipeline industries, as well as in aviation companies. Students will learn to inspect plates, welds, castings, forgings, and other materials extensively used in pressure, heavy-load, high-temperature, or corrosive environments.
The main objective of this training is to gain in-depth knowledge of basic theory and familiarity with the equipment and techniques used to assess the integrity of the material being tested. The trained and certified individual will perform NDT in accordance with various codes and standards. The job skills individuals will learn will enable them to perform multiple Non-Destructive inspections independently.
In this NDT training program, individuals will be trained as NDT Level I & II in non-destructive testing methods such as Liquid Penetrant Testing, Magnetic Particle Testing, Ultrasonic Testing, and RT Film Interpretation—Level II, and 40 Hours of Basic Industrial Radiation Safety. Upon completing the course, this NDT Training Program will offer 200 hours of credit. This training is also recognized as part of the Radiology NDT Program's professional framework.
NDT Technician Training Program (200 Hours) Included:
- Liquid Penetrant Testing Level I & II (16 Hours)
- Magnetic Particle Testing- Level I & II (24 Hours)
- Ultrasonic Testing - Level I & II ( 80 Hours)
- RT Film Interpretation - Level II ( 40 Hours)
- Industrial Radiation Safety - ( 40 Hours)
Admissions Requirements:
Individuals applying for this course are required to:
- Be at least 18 years of age (applicants under 18 require written permission from a parent or legal guardian to enroll); and
- Present proof of secondary education (a minimum high school diploma or GED certificate)
- No entrance requirement to attend this program.
Training Examination & Certification Requirement:
During this course, you will take an examination covering general theory, specifications, and practicals. You must achieve a minimum score of 70% in each of the three examinations to pass successfully. The average grade for all three tests should be at least 80%, as required by ASNT SNT-TC-1A 2024.
