Eddy Current Testing - Level I
Course Duration: 5 Days (40 Hours) Course Fees: $1245
Objective:
Eddy Current Testing - Level I, Classroom NDT training course is developed to meet the requirements of ASNT SNT-TC-1A, CP-189, NAS 410, and other equivalent standards, as well as customer-specific written practice, for training and certification of personnel in this method of Non-Destructive Testing.
After completion of the eddy current testing level, you will get in-depth knowledge of Eddy Current principles, equipment, and application of eddy current techniques to test various product forms for conductivity, sorting of materials, surface discontinuities, etc.
Training Examination & Certification Requirement:
During this Eddy Current Testing training class, you will give an examination in General theory, Specification, and Practical. You are required to successfully pass these three examinations with a minimum of 70% grading in each. The average grade across all three examinations should be at least 80%, in accordance with the requirements of ASNT SNT-TC-1A 2024 or NAS 410.
OJT Hours: As per the requirements of ASNT SNT-TC-1A, you need to have a minimum of 210 Hours of on-the-job training (OJT) after completion of training classes for certification in this method.
Basic Principle of Eddy Current Testing
This method uses an electrical current known as eddy current, induced by an alternating magnetic field in a conductive material. Eddy current flows in circles at and just below the material's surface. Interruptions in the flow of eddy currents, caused by imperfections, dimensional changes, or changes in the material's electrical and magnetic properties, can be detected with appropriate equipment.
